Welcome to Integrated Prayer!
Who am I?
My name is John Brundage. I’m a Roman Catholic seminarian with a community of priests called the Companions of the Cross. I’m originally from Dexter, Michigan, and I’m currently based in Houston, Texas for my pastoral internship. Prior to seminary I studied philosophy at Wayne State University, and worked for three years as a campus missionary with Catholic Christian Outreach in Calgary, Alberta.
Where’s a good place to start?
Here are my favorite reflections so far. These will give you an idea of what gets me going:
Why does this newsletter exist?
I started Integrated Prayer because I’m passionate about helping people see the beauty, wisdom, and applicability of the Catholic faith. I chose the title ‘Integrated Prayer’ because I’ve found it all to easy and all too common for myself and others to treat religion as a parallel reality. Through my reflections I hope to show that the Gospel speaks directly and powerfully into our day to day lives, and into the questions that matter most to us.
I also want to use this page as a motivation to apply myself to photography. Each post will feature an original photo I’ve shot and edited. I hope you enjoy these, I’m almost as excited about this aspect of the newsletter as I am with the writing part.
How often will I post?
I am hoping to post a least once a month. If you want to read even more of my writing, I’ve also written many pieces for my friend Trevor Anzai’s blog.
Why Subscribe?
Subscribing lets you receive my reflections directly into your inbox. I currently offer paid subscriptions for those with the desire and means to support my work financially.
If you can’t, or don’t want to pay for a subscription, but would still like to support my work, sharing my writing with your friends and on your social media would be tremendously helpful. Trying to grow this newsletter has made it crystal clear why companies need to spend millions of dollars on marketing.
